Tokyo Orientation went by insanely fast, and life in Komatsu has been great so far. Here are a few pictures until I get my photo site uploaded.
Here's a picture of sunrise over Tokyo. Jetlag had me waking up at 3 every morning, and I caught this when I was up on the 43rd floor of our hotel one morning just before 5 am.
Here is a picture from a Fireworks festival near Komatsu. This was before the festivities started.
And here is a picture of the pyre that they burn later in the ceremony.
And here the pyre is after it's been lit. They also light up the name of the city next to the fire, which you can kind-of see here. I'll have better pictures of it up on my photo website when I get everything uploaded.

And here it is after it burned to the ground. The taiko drummers went nuts and everyone waved their banners waiting for the fireworks to start.
I'll be going up to Wajima, in the northern part of Ishikawa, for a festival called Wajima Taisai next week. I'll put those pictures up soon!
